A video selection process to pitch is open now for just seven lucky entrepreneurs. Only the best quality pitches received will be chosen to present on the day.

Application by 18 May 2017 (the submitted video should be at least 2 minutes and no longer than 7 minutes in dynamic duration).

Finalists get to join Mark Sowerby for lunch and then pitch to approximately 100 high net work local individuals, 10 angel/VC fund representatives, a judging panel and invited guests (total audience of up to 150 people).

 

The seven finalists will also be invited to an exclusive Startup Investment Lunch with presentations by Mark Sowerby and representatives from BDO, ICSC, RDA prior to the pitch event (from 12-2pm: Invest in the future – Sunshine Coast Start Ups).

 

Running since 2012 the IC Pitch for Investment and has helped secure millions of dollars for local entrepreneurs seeking early stage seed funding. Just like Shark Tank and Dragon’s Den, this event is all about the “pitch for investment” and is appropriate for advanced entrepreneurial startups and established businesses in the market for angel, private equity or venture capital investment.

Our 5 Top Tips for a great pitch

If you need a hand with your submission register for one of out "pitch like a pro" workshops.

If your video submission is selected as a finalist to pitch, you will present a seven-minute pitch to the judges and audience. Be sure your pitch covers these areas:

  • Introduce yourself and your business
  • Explain what problem the business solves
  • Describe your customer
  • Tell the investors what value your business will bring to them and why they should invest in your team
  • Summarise your call to action which exactly how much funding you are seeking and how it will be used
