If you're aged 16 - 24 and want to learn about the start up community register for the Innovate Noosa Young Starters Pitch Comp.

Why:

Innovate Noosa and its partners want to help the next generation of entrepreneurs get ready to face the world of business so that Noosa is a hub of diverse smart, businesses delivering both social and economic benefits to the region and all of Queensland.

How:

The Young Starters Pitch Like A Pro event is targeted at people between 16-24 years of age to develop their skills in pitching an idea or even themselves to potential business partners and employers. It will help them to clearly articulate a response to the age-old question of “So, what do you do?”

What:

Innovate Noosa is running a 1-day workshop that is followed up by a networking event with local business leaders and influencers that teaches the process of preparing for a pitch or networking event.

What to expect:

We'll delve into the key components when starting a new idea.

  • Define the problem that you’re solving and for whom
  • Define your target audience and what they will be looking for
  • Define the value that your idea has for your target audience (and it isn’t just financial)
  • What would you need to progress to the next stage
  • Bringing it all together to create a great pitch

Each topic will be introduced by an experienced professional and followed up with a war story of what worked well or what didn’t work well. Participants will then be given exercises to develop their own idea with the support of entrepreneurial mentors.

Why attend?

You don’t need to have the latest idea to participate in this event. The concepts taught are essential business skills. We will also be reaching out to community organisations in the Noosa Shire to get them share what problems they would like solved. It is a great opportunity to have a positive impact in the region we live in.

We are also planning to hold an Innovate Noosa networking event in the evening where participants will be invited to with the regions business leaders

If that is not enough, we are also offering some great prizes including:

  • A $500 cash price
  • On the day spot prizes (valued at $400)
  • Space in the regions co-working spaces (Valued at $1000)
  • Tickets to Myriad for the winning team
  • Mentoring with local experts to help develop an idea further (Valued at $1500)

The opportunity to build a team and participate in larger hackathon events where prizes of up to $100k are up for grabs
